Prime Ministers Of Canada

The 2 prime ministers that i am going to be talking about are Joe Clark and Sir John .A. Macdonald. I hope that you get the information that you wanted.

SIR JOHN .A. MACDONALD

Sir John .A. Macdonald was the first prime minister of canada. His private life was full of tragedy and sorrow. he watched his wife, desperately ill, die slowly. His son died as a baby and his daughter was born with Hydrocephalus which caused a swelling of the brain and brain damage. he is the father of canada. if it wasn't for him there would be no Canada. he connected Canada from sea to sea by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Macdonald won re-election 3 more times and developed a what is now a national policy which rested on the transcontinental Railway, immigration from europe for Manitoba and North West Territories which would buy supplies from eastern Canada and growth on the farms in the west which would sell their foodstuffs to eastern Canada. He passed away on June 6th 1891.


JOE CLARK

Joe Clark became the youngest prime minister at only the age of 39, in 1979. after he lost the 1980 election, he stayed as a leader of the Opposition. Joe Clark left politics in 1993 to work as a international business consultant, but after he returned as Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party from 1998-2003. he was Prime Minister of Canada from 1979-1980. He was born on June 5 1939 in Alberta.
